Our Story

We are an independently family owned funeral directors established since 1991. Our main aim is to alleviate the worry from the family, of arranging the funeral, and in order to carry out this we are available 24 hours a day, a fully qualified member of staff will deal with your call personally, no answer machines or recorded messages, the personal touch every time.

Unfortunately, most of us will be confronted with the task of arranging the funeral of a loved one, which, in the midst of grief, can be a daunting ordeal. At this point you should call O’Neill’s Funeral Directors where we will be able to provide personal dignified assistance and advice, sympathy and care with all necessary arrangements. Once our services are engaged, everything can be left in our care, giving peace of mind to you and dignity to the deceased.

At O’Neill’s Funeral Directors we have recently built a Chapel of Rest incorporating Viewing Rooms and totally refurbished their existing premises. We have on display a selection of headstones at our premises to complete the one stop facility of providing everything needed to arrange a funeral.

Our premises at 98 Stewartstown Road, Belfast are designed around making it as easy as possible to arrange a funeral. With full car parking facilities opening seven days per week. However, what our clients like best is that they can speak to a member of O’Neill’s Funeral Directors staff on the phone 24 hours a day and not with an answering service.



Our Staff

All members of staff here at O'Neill's are highly trained and individually qualified in their respective roles within the business;

The Manager, Donna O'Neill Dip FD MBIFD JP who oversees the daily running of the business with her husband Laurence O'Neill Snr is a member of the British Institute of Funeral Directors and has been awarded a Diploma in funeral directing. Aswell as holding this Diploma she is a Justice of the Peace. Between the couple they have over 40 years experience in this funeral directing business.

The Embalmer, Laurence O'Neill Jnr MBIE Beng is a fully qualified member of the British Institute of Embalmers and oversees a fully trained and qualified team of both male and female embalmers.

Maintaining the upmost respect for your loved ones remains. Funeral conductors, Each of the funeral conductors who will be there on the day of your loved ones funeral to guide you and cater to any of your needs and highly experienced having been working in there roles for many years. With families knowing this it gives them extra comfort to know their loved ones are in safe hands and this allows them to grieve without any extra worries or distress. Memorial Mason, Our team of Memorial Masons are highly trained and have over 17 years experience. They can supply and erect a wide range of headstones from our range, but if there is nothing within our range that suits we can source or if needs be manufacture exactly what you want in the memorial for your loved one.


Our Chapel

Our recently purpose built Chapel can be used as a Chapel of Rest for families to gather together, but can also hold a full funeral requiem mass with seating for up to 90 people and additional standing room.

With the latest audio and visual technology installed families can play any music they would require via CD or any device with an auxillary connection. The private or public service can also be broadcast live across the world for the use of family or friends to view and listen to the funeral if they can not attend in person.
